A concept-store e-shop and storytelling site celebrating the island of Chios.

Elolathikes — Concept Store & E-Shop Celebrating Chios

Elolathikes began as the meeting point of two obsessions: Manes's photography of Chios and Anna's deep research into the island's history, architecture and food culture. Together they wanted more than a souvenir shop — they wanted a concept store that could introduce visitors to the medieval villages, hidden beaches, mastic groves and culinary rituals of Chios before they ever set foot on the island. The challenge was turning that rich, place-based world into a digital experience that felt as layered and authentic as the island itself.

We designed and built a custom e-shop for Elolathikes on WooCommerce, paired with an editorial blog that functions as the brand's storytelling engine. The site is built around Manes's photography: every collection, product page and post is anchored by images shot across Chios, from the stone alleys of Mesta and Pyrgi to the coastlines of Emporios and Nagos. Rather than treating the blog as an afterthought, we structured it as a travel and culture publication where readers discover the stories behind each place — the mastiha harvest, the Genoese legacy of the Kampos estates, the local recipes that rely on citrus and wild herbs. That content then feeds the shop naturally, so a reader learning about a Chios village can move directly to a print, poster or product inspired by it.

The product side uses print-on-demand integration, which let Elolathikes launch a wide visual catalog without holding inventory. We set up automated fulfillment workflows, size and format variants, and shipping logic that works for both Greek and international orders. Product pages include location tags linking back to the relevant island region, reinforcing the connection between the image, the place and the object. We also optimized the site for the search terms travelers actually use when planning a trip to Chios — things to do in Chios, Chios villages, Chios beaches, Chios mastic and where to go in Chios — so the blog attracts organic traffic from people already curious about the island.

The result is a digital presence that sells while it informs. Elolathikes now ranks for place-based queries about Chios, converts readers into customers through story-led product pages, and gives visitors a way to take home a piece of the island's visual identity. For a brand built on love for one specific Greek island, the website had to feel like Chios from the first scroll — and it does.
