Giannis Perperidis — Academic Portfolio & Research Profile
An academic portfolio for a philosopher and historian, organized around research, publications and teaching.
Giannis Perperidis is a philosopher and historian based in Athens, splitting his time between scholarship in the Greek capital and teaching work on Corfu. He is an adjunct lecturer in History and Digital Humanities at the Ionian University, and a postdoctoral researcher at Panteion University and the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. His writing sits at the intersection of philosophy of technology, AI ethics and digital culture, and has appeared in journals such as Technology in Society and Frontiers in Blockchain. The challenge was that this wide-ranging academic presence had no single, professional home online — only scattered profiles, PDFs and publication lists that did not reflect the breadth of his work.
We designed and developed a clean, content-first portfolio website that gives Giannis's research and public profile a proper base in Athens and beyond. The site is built around three clear sections — biography, research and publications — plus a downloadable CV and a bilingual academic blog in Greek and English. We chose WordPress for its editorial flexibility, paired with a lightweight custom theme so the design stays fast and easy to maintain without plugin bloat. Every page is structured for clarity: visitors can move from a short bio to full publication metadata, then download the CV in PDF, all within a few clicks.
On the technical side, we paid close attention to the kinds of details that matter for an academic audience. Publications are indexed with consistent formatting, DOI links where available, and filterable categories so readers can explore by topic — from AI ethics to digital humanities work tied to his teaching in Corfu. The bilingual blog lets Giannis publish in both Greek and English without duplicating effort, with language switching handled cleanly at the URL level. The responsive layout works equally well on a phone in Athens or a desktop in a research library abroad.
The result is a portfolio that functions as both a public-facing CV and a living archive of ongoing work. For Giannis, it solved a real problem: how to present a multi-institutional, multilingual academic career in one credible place. For his readers — students in Corfu, collaborators in Athens, conference organizers overseas — it means finding the right information quickly, in the right language. It is a straightforward, durable platform that lets the scholarship speak for itself.
